DIY Wedding

January 2012

Jonathan and I finally tied the knot last July, and to save money our wedding was very much a DIY affair! The reception was held on my parents farm in their working barn (which they loved!!). Apart from all the cleaning of a working barn we made our own candles, wooden signs, tissue paper pompoms, fans, buttonholes, floral arrangements in church and at the reception, made two bridesmaid dresses, bunting, designed invitations, order of service, website and made final amendments to my own wedding dress!... We even collected old Tunbridge Wells bottles and vintage vases. Family, friends and suppliers from my work helped by providing bridesmaid dresses, food, bar, drapes, photography, videography and general manual labour...

The day was amazing and reminds me of how much we learnt by doing it ourselves...
