On an inclement Saturday in spring we join Harry Craddock and his girlfriend Rachel for a commerical photography
shoot, they were hard at work pruning their three year old vineyard and preparing potted vines which they sell at farmers markets throughout the summer, and soon online via the farm's website.
In 2010 they planted five acres of vineyard at Farnell Farm, Rolvenden, Kent.
Three varieties were planted, Chardonnary, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier, which are the three classic varieties for making champagne. These were planted on two different root stocks, S04 and 3309.
The vineyard is a gentle south facing slope located in the high weald of Kent.
Wine should be available in the 2013 season.
